Giving to the community

So far in 2016, Piedmont Health has had an eventful year with many successes, including among others:

• We’ve opened our first community health center dental practice in Alamance County;
• Our Piedmont Health SeniorCare program continues to grow, with 271 current participants;
• We’ve expanded the UNC Family Medicine residency training program at our Prospect Hill Community Health Center site to grow the impact of this program on access to care;
• Lydia Mason, Piedmont Health’s chief financial officer, was selected as 2016 CFO of the Year (Large Non-Profit Category) by the Triangle Business Journal;
• We have continued to focus on the care of special populations, including care for the seniors, homeless, local refugee populations, and migrant/seasonal farmworkers.

Of course, progress requires financial support and we are continuing to do all that we can to raise needed resources. This effort begins at home.  For example, our Jeans for a Cause is a program that provides an avenue for employee donations to our Friends of Piedmont fund.  Employees who donate via payroll deductions are permitted to wear jeans on a designated day once monthly.  The program has helped raise $10,000.

We know that our employees cannot do it alone. We need help from our outside friends and supporters who believe in our mission of assuring access to high-quality primary health care for the diverse low-income community we serve across the region. We are humbly asking for your support.
